Cattory ("we", "us", or "our") operates Golem Type ("Golem"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information:

  • Email address (used for authentication and account management)
  • Authentication tokens (stored securely on your device)

Usage Data:

  • Monthly word count and AI rewrite count (for quota management)
  • Subscription status (free or pro)

Audio Data:

  • Audio is captured temporarily when you activate the recording shortcut
  • Audio is encrypted during transmission (TLS)
  • Audio is not stored locally or on our servers after transcription
  • Audio is processed in real time and immediately discarded

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Transcription: Audio is sent to our secure server, which forwards it to a third-party AI transcription service for processing. The transcribed text is returned to your device.
  • AI Rewrite: Selected text and your instruction are sent to our server for AI processing. The rewritten text is returned to your device.
  • Quota Management: We track word and rewrite counts to enforce free-tier limits.
  • Authentication: Your email is used to create and manage your account securely.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Cloud authentication provider — Account management and secure database storage
  • AI processing provider — Transcription and language model services
  • Payment processor — Subscription billing for Pro plans

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them. We do not sell your data to any third party.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Account data is stored in a secure cloud database
  • Authentication tokens are encrypted on your device using the operating system's secure storage
  • All network communication uses TLS encryption
  • Audio data is never persisted — it is processed in memory and discarded
  • Application settings (language, shortcut preferences, custom vocabulary) are stored locally on your device

5. Data Retention

  • Audio: Not retained. Discarded immediately after transcription.
  • Transcribed text: Not stored on our servers. Exists only on your device.
  • Account data: Retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
  • Usage counters: Reset monthly. Historical usage data is not retained.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the service

7. Children's Privacy

Golem is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the application or via email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
